Conductive Education (CE) is a form of special education and rehabilitation for children and adults with neurological conditions (Primarily resulting in physical disability such as Cerebral Palsy, Acquired Head Injury, Stroke etc…). At Rainbow House we have also found that Conductive Education can sometimes be of benefit to individuals with global developmental delay, genetic conditions and other diagnosed and undiagnosed physical disabilities.
The charity currently employs a Physiotherapist who is able to offer support within our nursery and Conductive Education service on a daily basis but also to children and adults who need Physiotherapy as a one to one.
Short Breaks & Fun Clubs
Our short breaks and fun clubs provide a high quality fun filled service to disabled children and their families. Here at Rainbow House we have a friendly and dedicated team of experienced staff and volunteers who work hard to ensure they meet the needs of the children but also give them a fun time, offering a range of activities to suit all abilities and ages from 5 to 17 years who have been assessed as reaching the eligibility criteria as defined by the Local Authority.
In 2012 families from Cumbria who travelled to Rainbow House to access Conductive Education services decided to launch their own services in order to provide permanent, local CE to even more children and families.
The Legacy Nursery combines caring with education by following the Department of Education’s statutory learning framework, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We are proud to have been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and have also achieved the Lancashire Quality Award.
