The Rainbow House New York Ball held at The Villa, Wrea Green on 17th November
raised over £50,000 for the Mawdesley based charity supporting children and young
people with physical and neurological disabilities.
After being welcomed by the New York Showgirls and entertained by Will Pike
during the drinks reception, 200 guests sat down to a three course dinner with
entertainment by Dance with Passion.
After dinner the highlight of the evening, Soul Story, a fabulous group from America,
delighted the audience before everyone took to the floor to dance the night away.
During the evening Rainbow House launched a new DVD, made by Sam Budd, which
captures the work they do and the benefits to the children, young people and their
families who use the services provided at Rainbow House.
An auction also took place with some fantastic prizes including a Preston North End
executive box for ten people; a couture hair cut by celebrity hairdresser Lee Stafford at his
home in London, a money cannot buy skincare package with Sharon Hilditch MBE at Crystal
Clear in Liverpool and a beautiful piece of artwork made by the children at Rainbow House
proved extremely popular. Whilst one lucky guest, Helen Speirs from South Wales won a
necklace, ring and earrings in the Diamond Draw.
Prizes in an interactive silent auction, where guests could bid on iPads on the tables,
included pantomime tickets, football packages and signed shirts, children’s toys, hotel
