News : Team Building to Make a Difference

The Legacy Rainbow House is offering businesses the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of disabled children, with a new and unique Team Building event.

The Legacy Rainbow House is offering inspirational and moving Team Building events from its centre, The Legacy, in Mawdesley, Lancashire. The day involves visits to the classroom and therapy rooms to see what the children are learning to do and how the charity’s services are helping so many children to become more independent. The Legacy Rainbow House teaches disabled children to crawl, feed themselves, stand and even walk in many cases, through a holistic method of teaching called Conductive Education.

Also included is a balloon modelling class in which teams make a balloon model present for the children, and a fun wheelchair relay in the charity’s new wheelchair skate park.

And if this wasn’t motivational enough, The Legacy Rainbow House has secured top positive mental attitude speaker, Norry Ascroft, to host the day. Norry is hugely experienced in the entertainment industry and was trained by one of America’s leading motivational speakers, and the best-selling author, Jack Canfield.

JMW Solicitors LLP of Manchester is a corporate supporter of the charity, and one of the first companies to participate in the Team Building events. The company was hugely impressed by the staff and centre at The Legacy and was delighted with the Team Building Day.

JMW Teambuilding DaySerena Stringfellow, Project Officer at The Legacy Rainbow House says,

“The Team Building events are a way of finding out more about what the charity does to support disabled children. It also gives participants a taste of the difficulties children with disabilities face on a day to day basis, and how hard they have to work to become more independent.”

Eddie Jones, Head of Clinical Negligence at JMW said,

“As corporate supporters of The Legacy Rainbow House we were delighted to take part in their corporate team building day and experience at first hand the wonderful work they do in rehabilitating and educating the children that attend the centre. All the staff that attended the day found it to be extremely rewarding as well as a fun experience and it helped everyone understand the importance of the work that The Legacy Rainbow House under takes.”
