Santa showed his support for children with disabilities in the North West by making his first ever appearance at the Carrington Centre in Eccleston, on Saturday 24 November in support of The Legacy Rainbow House.
Santa travelled on his sleigh through the centre of Eccleston, leaving Rainbow House at 11am and arriving at the Carrington Centre at 11.30. At 1.00pm he then travelled on to his Grotto at Wyevale Garden Centre (Auldene) in Ulnes Walton, which is his base until Christmas Eve.

In the afternoon on Santa’s first day at Wyevale the staff handed out mince pies to get us all into the Christmas spirit, along with family entertainment and balloon modelling for the kids!
Joe Mawdsley, Director of Services at The Legacy Rainbow House says,
“This is the third year Santa has supported us at Wyevale Garden Centre. We thank him for his support at this very busy time of the year! Also thanks go to the Rotary Clubs of Chorley, Chorley Astley, Leyland and South Ribble for helping to organise Santa’s Grotto.
For every child visiting The Grotto, Wyevale has agreed to donate £2.40 to The Legacy Rainbow House, and again we would like to thank the company for their generosity. The funds raised through the Grotto will be used to buy more equipment for the children to use at our new centre, The Legacy, in Mawdesley.”

Stan Durrans of the President of the Chorley Astley Rotary Club says,
“All Rotary members find it a great pleasure to give up their time to support such a worthwhile charity as The Legacy Rainbow House. We look forward to supporting the charity on its many projects for 2008.”
Christina Smith, Garden Centre Manager of Wyevale Garden Centre says,
”Wyevale is a national company which is committed to supporting projects in the community. We recognise the value of the work of The Legacy Rainbow House and we are proud to support the charity in its work with children with disabilities.”
The Wyevale Garden Centre Santa’s Grotto will be open on various dates and every weekend from Saturday 24 November until Monday 24 December. Cost for the Grotto is £5 per child and all children receive a gift. Bookings are being taken for breakfast and afternoon tea with Santa. Large groups should also book in advance.
