Nicki-James
Nicki-James is 10 years old. He has Diplegic Cerebral Palsy which mainly affects his legs. He has been attending The Legacy Rainbow House for over 6 years and has accessed our outreach services and summer schools in the past. He attends mainstream school and comes out of school for 1 Conductive Education session a week at TLRH. Since accessing Conductive Education Nicki-James has made great improvements in his posture, positions and his ability to move around independently. In particular he has learnt to stand independently and take a few independent steps. This improved skill has meant that Nicki is able to move around more independently at home and improve his independence and skill for example he is able to use the toilet with less help. Recently Nicki-James has had an operation to help improve the position of his legs and feet this operation meant that Nicki-James was immobile for a number of weeks and has to relearn some of his previously learnt skills. By sponsoring Nicki-James you will be helping him to re-learn how to stand independently and generally to help him to become a more independent as he prepares to move into secondary school.

Aaron
Aaron is 6 years old and has Cerebral Palsy that affects his whole body. He has been attending The Legacy Rainbow House for 4 years and accessed our parent and child service before moving into our specialist nursery. He now comes out of school for 2 Conductive Education sessions a week at TLRH. When Aaron first started at TLRH he required constant support from an adult. He has now learnt to sit for a few seconds by himself when he really concentrates hard! And he is also learning how to move his body so that he can do things such as crawl, stand and roll and he is really enjoying practicing these skills. He has recently learnt to open and close his hands to play with different toys and has started trying to say a few words. By sponsoring Aaron you will help him continue to improve in all these skills thus reducing his dependence on adults for help and allowing him to play and move by himself.
Aaron requires sponsorship of £1064 or a monthly donation of £88.66 which will enable him to have 114 hours of therapy per year.

Jules 
Jules is 6 years old and suffered an acquired brain injury when he was 2 years old. This brain injury affected his whole body and he lost nearly all of the skills he had learnt previously. He has been attending The Legacy Rainbow House for 3 years and accessed our parent and child service before moving into our specialist nursery. He now comes out of school for weekly Conductive Education sessions at TLRH. When Jules first started at TLRH he required constant support from an adult. He has now learnt to sit for a short time by himself. He is also learning how to move his body so that he can do things such as crawl, stand and roll and he is really enjoying practicing these skills. He has recently learnt to stand holding onto support and has started trying to say a few words. By sponsoring Jules you will help him continue to improve in all these skills thus reducing his dependence on adults for help and allowing him to play and move by himself. You could help be a part of his future achievements by sponsoring his sessions.
Jules requires funding for 456 hours per year - equal to 5 days full time per week plus transport, this totals £7256 per year which is a monthly donation of £604.66

Ellie
Ellie is 6 years old. She has Cerebral Palsy which affects her whole body. She has been attending The Legacy Rainbow House for over 5 years and accessed our parent and child service before moving into our specialist nursery. She now attends mainstream school and comes out of school for 2 Conductive Education sessions a week at TLRH. Since accessing Conductive Education Ellie has learnt to sit independently, she can also move around independently by rolling. Ellie has become much more confident and is learning to say a few words. By sponsoring Ellie you will be helping her to continue to grow in confidence. She will also have to opportunity to develop new skills such as crawling, walking, dressing and feeding herself as well as improving her current skills in sitting, speaking and playing with her friends.
Ellie is already partially sponsored but still requires sponsorship of £1365 per year or a monthly donation of £113.75 which will enable her to have 76 sessions p/y.

Erin
Erin is 6 years old and has global developmental delay with no specific diagnosis. She has been attending TLRH for 4 years. She currently attends a mainstream school and comes out of school once a week for Conductive Education sessions at TLRH. When Erin began attending TLRH she was unable to stand or walk and she had poor concentration and communication skills. Over the past 4 years Erin has learnt to stand and walk independently and is learning to negotiate walking on challenging surfaces such as steps. She has also learnt to concentrate for longer periods and will participate in all of her group activities. Most recently Erin has learnt to use sign language to communicate and has even learnt to say a few words like hello. By sponsoring Erin you will help her to continue to be more physically independent like learning to hop and jump. You will also help her learn to communicate more and hence interact more with her mainstream classmates.
Erin is already partially sponsored but still requires sponsorship of £532 per year or a monthly donation of £44.33 which will enable her to have 114 hours of therapy.

Timothy
Timmy is 8 years old and is diagnosed with Dyspraxia a condition which affects his balance, co-ordination and concentration skills. He has been attending TLRH for just 18 months. During this time Timmy has made great improvements in his balance and is consequently more confident when taking part in his PE lessons at school. He has also made huge improvements in his fine-motor skills. He has much neater handwriting and is able to use cutlery more easily and eats more tidily. By sponsoring Timmy you will help him to continue to develop his balance and co-ordination and in doing so help him grow in confidence. You will also help him to learn to dress himself and keep-up with his mainstream peers.

Gemma
Gemma is 6 years old and has global developmental delay with no specific diagnosis. She has been attending TLRH for 5 years. Last year Gemma attending TLRH specialist nursery and now she is at school she attends Conductive Education sessions at TLRH twice a week. When Gemma joined TLRH she was unable to sit independently and used rolling on the floor in order to move around. She is now able to sit completely independently, she has learnt to crawl and pulls herself up to standing at furniture. Gemma has recently begun using a walking frame and is able to use it to walk short distances. She has even learnt to stand independently for a couple of seconds. Gemma has also improved in her ability to concentrate and participate in all activities. By sponsoring Gemma you will help her to continue to make progress in her physical skills and maybe stand for even longer by herself! She will also be able to practice walking with her frame to use it to get around at home and school as well as at TLRH. Gemma will also be able to improve her concentration skills and hopefully to learn to interact with her peers more.
Gemma is already partially aponsored but still requires sponsorship of £3192 or a monthly donation of £266 per month. This will enable Gemma to have 342 hours of therapy per year.

Tom
Tom is 8 years old and has Cerebral Palsy which affects his whole body making him very stiff. Tom attends Conductive Education at TLRH on a weekly basis and has been with us since 200?. Tom finds all movements very challenging and is often uncomfortable due to the stiffness in his body. His progress since attending TLRH has been in small steps but has been very significant to him and his family. Firstly, Tom has learnt to relax and can now find comfortable positions more easily. He has also learnt to lift his head up for longer periods of time and can move his head into the middle whereas he used to always keep it to one side. Tom has also learnt to use different positions to play with toys such as lying on his side, or kneeling over a supportive roll. These small skills are very important to Tom as not only has he become more comfortable in everyday activities but he is able to communicate better with his friends and family as he can lift his head when they talk to him. By sponsoring Tom you will help him to practice more difficult skills such as rolling on the floor and using his hands more easily to reach for and hold onto toys.

George
George is 5 years old and has Cerebral Palsy which affects his whole body. He has been attending weekly Conductive Education sessions at TLRH for 18 months. When George started at TLRH he tried to play and move by himself but was unable to as his body did not move in the way he wanted. He required constant support from an adult just to help him sit and play. He has now learnt to sit for a few seconds by himself when he really concentrates hard! He is also learning how to move his body so that he can do things such as crawl, stand and roll and he is really enjoying practicing these skills. By sponsoring George you will help him continue to improve in all these skills thus reducing his dependence on adults for help and allowing him to play and move by himself.

Maisie
Maisie has been attending TLRH since it first opened in 2001. She is 9 years old and has Cerebral Palsy. She attends TLRH for one Conductive Education session a week. Maisie has learnt many things since attending TLRH, most recently she has learnt to stand up from the floor using furniture for support and as well as walking using sticks has just begun to stand independently for a few seconds. As Maisie has got older she is keener to do things for herself and is really pleased with herself when she achieves a challenging task. She has become much more confident in doing difficult things such as balancing and is hence a much more chatty and lively character. By sponsoring Maisie you will allow her to continue to succeed in achieving things by herself helping her to become more confident as well as more physically able to do everyday activities.

Rhiannon
Rhiannon is 5 years old and has developmental delay. She has been attending TLRH for 2½ years. She currently comes to TLRH once a week for Conductive Education sessions at TLRH. When Rhiannon began attending TLRH she was unable to stand or walk and she had poor concentration and communication skills. Over the past 2½ years Rhiannon has learnt to stand and walk independently and is learning to negotiate walking on challenging surfaces such as steps. She has also learnt to concentrate for longer periods and will participate in her group activities. Most recently Rhiannon has learnt to say a number of words and is beginning to put together sentences. By sponsoring Rhiannon you will help her to continue to be more physically independent like learning to hop, run and jump. You will also help her learn to speak more clearly and hence interact more with her mainstream classmates.

Laurie
Laurie is 7 years old and has Cerebral Palsy that means she has very stiff legs. She has been attending TLRH for 4 years. She currently comes out of school twice a week for Conductive Education sessions at TLRH. When at TLRH Laurie undertakes activities to help her to relax and use her legs more easily. She practices crawling to move around and is encouraged to stand for short periods of time a task that she finds very difficult! She is also learning to use sign language and can say a few words. By sponsoring Laurie you will help her to continue to improve her ability to communicate. She will also have the opportunity to do difficult physical tasks and use her legs more easily.
