Our Story
Rainbow House was founded in 2001 by, Joe Mawdsley, a mother of two children who have a rare genetic life-threatening disorder which has disabled them for life.
Rainbow House was originally opened to provide services for children in Lancashire, but demand has grown rapidly and the charity opened a new purpose-built centre of excellence, The Legacy, in 2007.
The Legacy Rainbow House now serves over 170 children from across the United Kingdom, and offers a range of outreach services. As knowledge of our work increases, we have also started to help children from outside the UK.
